Oh yeah! Back in Singapore for six and a half weeks! The last time we were in Singapore, we looked after Bella, the dog. This time, we hung out with a very special cat, Flower, and looked after her awesome two bedroom apartment in the heart of Bishan, Singapore.

Flower is a well-travelled cat, she started off in Vietnam, where she lost her back leg, has lived in America and is now calling Singapore home. She talks a lot and loves a good cuddle but only when she wants it.

Her favourite toy was a stick with a stretchy cable and a mouse. In fact, it wasn't the mouse, she just loved the stretchy cable. How we would tease her with that. Poor Flower!

We loved hanging out with Flower. She was so easy to look after as she was very neat and clean even though she would malt all over us. We could always find her in her favourite place in the apartment – on a chair in the second bedroom. It's a mystery why she loved that chair so much.

Our apartment for just over six weeks was located in Bishan, Singapore. It was perfectly located between two Singapore MRT stations – Bishan and Marymount.

Bishan MRT station was joined to a couple of shopping centres and had at least five food halls within a fifty metre radius. Singaporeans like to eat. We like to eat. All we did was eat!

We had a few favourite places to dine at and would regularly visit. I could eat at Ming Kee Bugis Street Chicken Rice everyday. It was that good!

For $11 SGD we would get two plates of perfectly cooked steamed chicken with just enough sauce on top, plates of chicken flavoured rice, some chicken broth and a big plate of steamed vegetable in oyster sauce. Oh my!

We aren't the only ones who loved this chicken rice stall. We would often have to line up for thirty minutes before getting served. Highly recommended! Read more here and here.

Andrew and I had the pleasure of enjoying the company of my parents for a few days in Singapore. This was half way through our six and a bit weeks stay. Perfect timing really as it broke up our stay.

All of a sudden we were tourists again! For four days we took in the sights of Singapore. We headed over to Sentosa Island via the cable car, went to the Raffles Hotel and drank very pricey Singapore Slings, we waltzed around the Singapore Gardens By The Bay and viewed the light, sound and water show at the Marina Bay.

I loved having my parents visit. I highly recommend you consider having loved ones visit when you take on a long house-sit. It's nice to see some familiar faces.

We had a great time looking after Flower in Singapore. Thank you Adrienne for letting us come and stay. We'll see you both again some time soon!
