Babies need sleep. Anything that helps our little darling sleep more is worth at least trying. Introducing an awesome product – the SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe for the pram (buggy, pushchair, stroller).
Along with Zoe needing to sleep, the parents ie Andrew and I, also need things. We need to be able to go outside and experience things beyond the four walls of our home. Even if this is just to walk to the local supermarket. We need to get out too!
Combining our darling's need to sleep and our need to go outside from time to time can be a real struggle at times. But now that the SnoozeShade cover has entered our lives we are all a lot happier.
The pram (stroller, buggy, pushchair or whatever you call it) we use is a BabyZen Yoyo. This is the smallest and comfiest carry-on sized pram on the market at the moment and we love it. It is small in size and in weight.
Because the Yoyo is so petite, the SnoozeShade looks huge. It is really as it needs to fit a range of prams However it still works extremely well.
All photos were taken on the Badalona beach front. Badalona is a beachfront town north of Barcelona in Spain. It was winter at the time but the sun was still shining extremely brightly.
The SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe is designed to be a one-size-fits all sun shade / wind / light rain / snooze cover. It will fit the majority of prams out there on the market including single, three wheeler and lay-down types. The elastic edges, the stretchy fabric and the fantastic elastic popper button attachment tape help the cover fit on the prams.
Once the cover is attached to the pram correctly, you have three different options with the SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe.
The first is having the two panels completely open and stored in the little pocket at the bottom. This is perfect for when you have just put the little one in the pram and have just started walking. The baby or toddler can still see and enjoy everything on offer.
Option two is zipping up the inner layer, the mesh window. Doing this can block up to 80% of UV rays and quite a bit of light and stimulation. This option is perfect after about ten minutes of walking, when you are wanting your little one to nod off to sleep. They can still see out, it is just a lot darker.
Thirdly, adding the outer layer, the snooze shade, to the equation. We tend to add the snooze shade part around ten minutes after doing up the mesh window. This is done up by lifting the panel up from the little pocket at the bottom and press stud attaching it to the top.
A few minutes later and Zoe is generally asleep! Except for in these photos. You can't win every time!
The SnoozeShade comes with its own little storage bag. I do wish it was sewn onto the product though. I could then just take the cover off and stuff it back in the attached bag and then put the whole thing in my diaper bag. There would be no chance of me losing the bag then. I will probably just sew it on to the bottom myself.
The SnoozeShade works really well. I can see it being brilliant once we hit an Australian summer with the ouchy hot sun. The sides of the cover and the front outer silver “snooze shade” is 97.5% UV protective. Handy for protecting sensitive skin.
This is a good product but it is a little too big for the BabyZen Yoyo. It just doesn't fit perfectly. The peakaboo zip doesn't work on the YoYo although I know it all lines up correctly on other prams so that is ok.
Perhaps the cover needs more strips and buttons to be able to attach it more securely, not that a baby could actually pull it off easily. An attached stuff it bag would be great.
I do recommend the SnoozeShade to mums and dads who like to go walking during their child's nap times. Just start the process of doing up the covers about twenty minutes before nap time officially starts.

A great idea to shield little ones from the sun
Did you ever find a sunshade that fit the babyzen yoyo perfectly? I’m looking for one for my son when we travel to Hawaii.
