Spa Hotels All The Way For Me

As you know, I like a touch of luxury. Going on holiday gives me the chance to spoil myself, so I always look for a hotel with a good spa. Recently I visited Niagara Falls.

Finding a Niagara Falls Hotel with a good spa was trickier than I expected. There are quite a few hotels in the area that claimed to offer a spa, but I thought some of them should have been advertising as Jacuzzi hotels rather than spa hotels. Some of them literally only had a fitness room, Jacuzzi and a pool not really my idea of spa facilities.

I wanted a spa that offered beauty treatments and a chance to really relax and give myself the break I needed. The hotel I settled on was the Marriott Niagara Falls. This hotel has a full spa that offers a range of treatments.

One of the best things about the spa was that there were full body treatments on offer. The Moroccan perfect body treatment was a great start. It is an all over body rub based on a combination of exfoliating orange peel and Moroccan oils. Afterwards, my skin was fresh, tight and tingling after just one hour of treatment. I swear I was literally glowing and the effect lasted for days. It really was one of the best all over body treatments I have had.

In fact, it was so good that the next day I went back and indulged in a Moroccan hair and scalp ritual. My scalp felt fresh and clean. The treatment includes a hydrating hair mask that left my hair with a wonderful sheen.

I also indulged in two facials. The better of the two was one of the spa’s signature treatments. The treatment is called Waterfall Bliss, which made me chuckle a bit, but I had read good reviews for this unusual 90 minute facial, so went ahead and booked myself in. This hydro-based facial was wonderful and the skin care advice I was given by Luba was very detailed. She clearly knew what she was talking about and enjoyed sharing her knowledge.

My second facial was just before I went home. To be honest I did not really need it because my skin still felt great from the hydro facial, but I couldn’t resist trying the Dermalogica customised luxury facial. This treatment is not only customised to your skin it uses a mapping system to tailor the treatment to each area of your face. Also, included in the treatment was a wonderful facial massage. Again, I was very impressed.

Naturally, I did not spend all of the time in the spa, even though I was tempted to. I got out and enjoyed the full Niagara Falls tour. My room had fantastic views of the falls and the hotel was ideally located for exploring the area.

For me combining access to a wonderful spa, a luxurious environment and the beautiful falls was the perfect holiday. It really could not have been better.
