Chung Wah Chicken Rice Balls In Melaka, Malaysia

Chung Wah Chicken Rice Balls in Melaka were the best Rice Balls we had whilst in Melaka, Malaysia. Big call I know.

The Hainanese chicken was moist, cooked to perfection and delicious. The Rice Balls were just as moist and as delicious as the chicken and about the size of a ping pong ball. Perfection on our plates and then in our tummies!

I wrote about how wonderful I thought these were previously, I think they are the bees knees. I stand by my original thought that perhaps the rice balls were formed so that farm workers were able to just place one in their mouth and chew instead of having to deal with loose rice in a banana leaf.

This restaurant is only open from about 8:30am till 3 or 4pm in the afternoon. Be warned that there is nearly always a queue of people lining up for this place. We walked past this restaurant numerous times and there was always a queue. We went in at about 2pm one day, still people waiting to get in after that time!

We are sorry that we do not have a picture of the front of the restaurant to show you. On our Melaka Food Map, you can see the exact location.

Kedai Chop Chung Wah,18, Jalan Hang Jebat,75200 Melaka.
Daily: 8.30am-3.00pm/4.00pm

If you look at the start of Jonker Walk, after crossing over the bridge, there is a little round about, on one corner is an air conditioned durian chendol restaurant, on the exact opposite corner (closer to the bridge) is the Chicken Rice Ball Restaurant.
