We spent a lovely weekend stay at Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel with some friends.
Situated right on the banks of the Swan River there are lovely views from both the room and around the hotel. Excellent quality paths for walking, cycling or pushing a stroller extend along the Swan river for miles in either direction so there is plenty of space for a relaxed stroll. Despite being so close to the Perth CBD this location feels pleasantly secluded with an abundance of greenery.
Because it is in a secluded spot, be aware that there is not a lot of food or entertainment available immediately around the hotel. A car or taxi is likely to be required if you want to go anywhere.
The Perth city center is about 15 minutes drive away. Accessible by car but too far to conveniently walk to unfortunately. This is another trade off of those lovely river views and the secluded river front location. The hotel is just that little bit too far away to avoid the need to drive or take a taxi.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious and well equiped. A washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen would make this perfect for families or groups who have clothes to wash and meals to prepare. If you are going to stay here you might consider picking up food for the evening during your day out and about.
For us the highlight was definitely the swimming pool. Set on the banks of the Swan River, surrounded by grassy slopes, the swimming pool is a fabulous place to soak up some West Australian sunshine.
If you are staying in Perth for work and will be driving into the Perth CBD or you are traveling with a group or family and will have your own transport the Assured Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel is worth a look. However if you want to be able to walk out your front door and sample everything Perth has to offer I would instead suggest Mantra On Murray.
